The protagonist, Zhang Xuan, is a reincarnate from modern times. He used to be a librarian in his previous life, so when he reincarnates in the body of the least accomplished teacher at a cultivation academy, his "reincarnation bonus" is the titular Library of Heaven's Path. Said virtual library exists in his head, and it does two things: by observing people or objects, he can gain a detailed description of them (with emphasis on their weaknesses and flaws), and by opening any books the Library creates a copy in his head which he can freely access and commit to memory. I honestly think that this is one of the best stories I've read so far, and I've read a lot. Everything about is well-thought and unique, (little to no tropes) and it never felt dull and it was all fleshed out. This has been a popular story for a while. So I recommend and suggest you read this story, here's why:

Translation Quality: The translations are great, (as expected from Qidian) and the story makes me laugh as the protagonist smacks the faces of people who underestimated him, I've seen little to no errors at all concerning grammar or punctuation and it makes it easy for you to understand what's happening.

Updating Stability/Speed: It ticks me off since this story is one of the best I've read so far, I constantly wait and there are many other people like me out there. 1 chapter everyday for 5 days in a week isn't enough, taking into account the quality of this story and how brilliant it is. Thought the updating speed isn't good for those impatient, the stability is true to its word. They always update every day which is enough for me.

World Building: It slowly builds up and doesn't just throw a bunch of information at you expecting to have to have powers like the main character here (unless you do). The build-up of the world is decent but it just doesn't explain enough really about the roles and the other places other than where the main character is. It just gives you the information you need where you are.

Character Design: The characters are well-fleshed out and there are no characters being introduced that are basically just 2-D with no personality. They all have a role and even if they play a minor one they are mentioned a few more times later on in the story. The characters develop throughout the story and don't just have the same personality.

Story Development: The plot of the story is very interesting as it is, I've read many online and translated novels and this barely follows any tropes, (you can't expect there to be none with so many stories). It also goes at a decent pacing that is persistent, (he doesn't just rise 4 realms in 1 go). You can expect the plot to be great as it's very unique, I was always wanting more and it never felt dull.

You can expect the story to be brilliant and splendid, you will always be on the edge of your seat!

One of the most cruelly satisfying stories I've ever read. Cruel because the MC flabbergasts people with words and actions in ways you would not have imagined. And cruel because the author is a sadist to readers. How? EVERY SINGLE RELEASE is a cliffhanger. Every one. This is a story that reading it will shorten your lifespan due to built up frustration and anticipation from SOO MANY cliffhangers. It would be much better for my health if I only read this story every week or two so that I could binge a bit but alas willpower is not high enough. I am forced to torture myself.

Very funny so far, and if you like History's Number 1 Founder you will probably like this. The MC is a guy that is reincarnated into a body of a worst teacher in some academy for cultivation and gets some kind of heavenly ability in his mind that allows him to see any and all weaknesses one has in their cultivation technique or body etc. So far (ch.6) the story is focused on him recruiting student in a very funny manner so it's entertaining and if you like that kind of stuff I recommend this novel.

I must admit to not expecting too much when I started reading this. It felt like it would be your standard transmigration novel. And it certainly is in most ways. There's a cheat ability of some kind given the MC, there are tons of people who underestimate him and use any chance to belittle him, etc.

However, what I find sets it apart is its humor, the attitude of the protagonist and the side characters. The people that spout nonsense at him are very quickly subdued, usually in very funny ways. Most of them usually quickly understand that he is better than what they assumed and go on to respect him (unless you are one of the denser main "antagonists") for what he displays, rather than go on for chapter after chapter of chastising him without the MC revealing his hand.

Other novels of this kind I end up just quickly scrolling through chapters to get to the good part where the protagonist proceeds to the face-slapping. Library of Heaven's Path has lots of minor face-slapping incidents that build up to the BIG face-slapping incident that I just finished. It's glorious.

Just like tons of translated novels here, LOHP started decently and steadily crushed and burned as the story progressed in a bewildering mass of idiocy and confusion. Two stars for the novelty concept of having an OP library skill of the protagonist.

The humor in the story quickly lost its luster and all villains deteriorated into a hopeless heap of blithering morons who only know how to react and show bewilderment due to the MC's staggering performance. You would think that all the characters and mobs in the story share the same genes and intellectual faculty for their ability to constantly spew the same nonsense all throughout the story. You would constantly see lines like: "Brother, you think that breaking through from---to---is as easy as breathing?" If one is bombarded with the same lines from chapter 1 to 100+ chapters, it gets old really fast.

The story is also very formulaic and does not contain a shred of tension. Even the conflicts only serve as to showcase how perfect and awesome the MC is. So despite my feverish prayer for the story to take off and get back on track, it became apparent that this novel is cursed to be part of one of my growing list of "Dropped" novels.

Library of Heaven's Path is an excellent story that's near the top of its genre - face-slapping. Its plot is really well written and even though you kind of know what is going to happen, but you can't help but anticipate what's going to happen next.

The MC is thick-skinned, arrogant sometimes even, but I think there's a certain charm to the smug protagonist as long as they don't push it too far. At the very least, I find it better than a weak-willed protagonist who allows himself to be pushed around by the rest of the world. The MC is also kind of like a genius who does everything others find hard to easily, so you can't expect him to grind up slowly. After all, that's the kind of book it is. However, this doesn't really mean he doesn't work hard. Time progresses really slowly in the book and he really does a lot within that short period of time every day.

Next, it does have the idea of the relationship of teacher and student, but it doesn't focus heavily on it. However, the author has said that the next arc will focus on it (that's 300 by the way.)

Just like many has said, it's not a deep novel and rather, it is more like something you read after a tiring day to refresh yourself.

It has potential and probably will continue to interest me for the next hundred chapters or so. There's a limit to face-slapping genre and eventually, things may get repetitive and boring, but up to this point, it is a 5 stars for me

Repetitive and formulaic. The MC bluffs, collects books, the library sorts out everything, and he goes around slapping faces. It started off fun but it just ends up like every other CN novel. The only thing variable in the story so far are the names, guilds, association, and map.

Here's the gist of the story. MC arrives at new map > Axxholes look down on him/bully for coming from a relatively poor kingdom > MC uses cheat to show off > Axxholes become polite human beings because power is everything (a la every CN novel ever).
The chapters are also ridiculously padded with commentaries from audiences. Because every place they go, there has to be competitions and the MC will kick everyone's ass. The commentaries prior to the competitions are insults and dissing. The ones after are gasps and respect. Repeat for every place they go to and you have the novel.

At first, I thought this novel would be interesting, it had a light tone with some comedy here and there plus some face slapping as a bonus. But then the story continued and it all went downhill. The way he gains knowledge is stupid but bearable, The way people act towards him, in the beginning, makes sense which was nice but then the students came in. And with but a wave of his hand they start idolizing him as a god. It was frankly quite annoying, then there's the point where others spend years upon years of effort to advance realms and gain strength but he just sits there for an hour or so and BAM his strength rivals or even surpasses the local experts. He then constantly complains everytime he's about to advance realms that it's so slow or whatever which is not that funny, plus he still doesn't know any common sense

Galactic Dark Net might be suitable to the taste of people who need to take a break from monotony and fans of superhero stories, but not exactly for people who will question every step, every detail. Fair warning: there were (minor?) matters that were brushed off by the author which we don't know the reason as of yet whether it was considered as having no significance to the main plot line or if future chapters will revisit it. In the style of superhero stories, the world construct was being told incrementally and people's motives tend to be hidden till the related arc nears/begins.

Fantastic read. So refreshing to see something new out there. I have no doubt that there's plenty of diversity for untranslated novels, but when it comes to the stuff translators are choosing now they're all the same transmigration/xianxia/sect/cultivation novels.

After having read many novels, I had become a bit skeptic when someone told me they found a good story. I assumed (incorrectly it seems) that all the good novels are already being translated by wuxiaworld, gravity tales, xianxia world and the likes. But, after coming to "noodle town" I have been amazed. Two very beautifully written stories are translated about which I never had heard before. Thanks to noodletranslations for this treat. I know that most good novels tend to go "bad" after a few hundred chapters, so a review on ch 66 is not very convincing, BUT so far worth the time invested to read it.

Definitely worth a read. It is hard to dislike this novel. Till now, I have read very very few LNs with the story revolving around thematic areas of patriotism. This LN gives a new spin to the survival theme. Our MC is an esper who has awesome SSS type power. Unfortunately, he is from Earth. Which is one of the weakest planets in the Galaxy Union (union of all the human planets which are called 'countries'). So there is always pressure from other bigger planets to colonize earth. There are very few novels which can get your blood boiling when you read them. But this is one of those LNs. There is definitely some big overarching story here apart from the Patriotic 'earth vs other big bad planets'. This will probably be revealed later on. Still too early to say where the story will be headed. However, it is sheer joy to read this cathartic action-packed bloody violent LN.

Really interesting novel. I can honestly say that this story is very united and very much a ‘Hero’s tale’ its a bunch of goody two shoes that don’t mind getting their hands dirty. Its a good step back from the usual Xianxia and Xuanhaun that is all hack and slash with no substance.

I’ve currently read up to 49 chapters and eagerly waiting for chapter 50!

The story building is nice, not fast not slow. The action comes fairly early but not too often. The romance? Yes, it actually shows glimpses of romance in the first dozen chapters and is quite nicely done! It doesn’t just start with a woman falling for the MC for no damn reason swooning over him in an instant, it gives a plausible reason for her coming affections and why she’s possibly attracted to the MC; it really makes you want to see if the relationship develops. I’m hoping they at least become friends I know they’ll be close in some way.

The MC power? Very unique not forced and not just a random power-up that’s SO OP its disastrous. Though you can see how he’ll get it a mile coming to the journey is worth it. The determination and the perseverance is admirable.

Though a negative for me was that the MC suddenly developed something contradictory to his original position forming a Spiderman mentality from an Uncle Ben saying. It's not overly forced and IMO something you can overlook.

I like it when the MC goes through hard times and pisses off a lot of other espers! Though that last one might be inherent not just cause he’s an MC in a CN novel but the nature of his ability as well.

There are a few loose ends early on that don't have any answers and where (seemingly) totally worthless and or just an excuse to allow for the story to develop on a certain path. Though I don't mind, I certainly hope this doesn't become a trend.

This novel is very entertaining. The world building and cultivation method are solid, but where it really shines are the characterization and the character interactions. It's very satisfying to read a novel where the side characters are fleshed out. Often times, I find myself chuckling at the dialogue.

One demerit, if you go into ZTJ expecting the MC go from lvl 1 to 100 promptly, forget about it. Still, though he's weak, doesn't mean he's useless.

Overall, I heavily recommend this novel.

Yes, this novel is slow. But it is not repetitive, and everything in each chapter is meaningful (unlike IET...). Although it may be frustrating that the novel has such a slow pace, the author's style is to slowly introduce concepts, characters, and foreshadow subtly as he is an actually accomplished writer. He introduces the world in awesome detail in a "show don't tell" manner. You get a much better feel for the world in this way. This means that he doesn't rush through stuff and doesn't introduce stuff like IET does in one chapter and it feels rushed and forced.

Everything is masterfully set up and planned. You can tell that the author had already planned for things to happen long, long in advance. For example, the thing with stars and how "the positions are relative."

This novel is really really beautifully poetic. It often centers around the MC's thoughts and moral dilemmas, and it isn't contrived like every other xianxia, in which it's an excuse to slaughter wantonly or stupidly gain power or whatever. The only thing that comes close is ISSTH, and honestly, it pales in comparison to Ze Tian Ji.

Although, one thing that I don't like about the novel (one of the only things) is how the people in the crowd always look at Chen Changsheng "with disdain" and "with scorn" and always think he's trash. It just doesn't make any sense and pisses me off. At a certain point, it's literally impossible to not see that Cheng Changsheng is the real deal. So, I will count off that. But it's still an insanely good novel and that part is only a really small part of it.

I think one of the reasons this novel is not as liked is that in its core, it's really not about being the strongest and getting revenge or getting girls or all that. It's about understanding yourself, surviving, peaceful living etc. The main character (which is one of my favorite main characters on this website) is calm, collected, and doesn't care about what others think. He is fair to everyone and isn't an asshole like many other MCs on this website who claim that they're righteous as they literally massacre an entire group of people.

The novel starts, unlike many other, with a really weak protagonist. But although he has no power, he's got a brain and, for once, a personality. Childish at times, smart at other, we see here a really detailed and complex character of fourteen years old evolving into a hostile world which might as well have been ours, as he's just a human being, a realistic one at that, and neither a twenty something transported to another world or the reincarnation of a mysterious elder. Not only is he great, but every other character around him is either likeable, be it his friends or his enemies, instead of being one-dimensional like many other novels, and this is what makes it really a worthy read.

The pace is slow and steady. If you enjoy reading the typical translated novels with “action to action to action” pace, this novel is probably not your cup of tea. If you can read and enjoy a normal English novel where characters are fleshed out and the world is developed over time, you'll be fine with the writing and pacing of this novel. There is a lot of world building, character development and character interactions and not nearly as much fighting as you would find in other translated novels. This novel contains the opposite type of characters found in other translated novels, which is extremely refreshing. There is no typical character in this novel. For example, there is no such thing as a typical "bad guy/powerful person" that wants to pick a fight with the main character for some small/abstract reason. The author does a wonderful job at giving/hinting at a reason that justifies their action. Character actions are done with reasoning such as fear, worry, peer pressure, or necessity. Characters are more realistic thanks to this. It is like many other translated Chinese web novels but with a slower pace, much more detail, much more logical reasoning, and well fleshed out individual characters that have understandable/relatable goals and ambitions

1. MC is from another world with a game system to fulfill certain quests so as not to die. The MC is extremely hilarious at times while being clever and adapts to situations in a humorous way. Rarely any "comedy" genres can actually make me laugh out loud, but this MC/author did a great job!
2. The plot is very funny with MC trying to recruit disciples, so the storyline smoothly moves along. There are times when the story gets serious, but overall, it is a light novel.
3. The interactions between the MC and the side characters is gold! If nothing else, read for the feels! This is the first novel I read outside of the "romance" genres cause I got sick of all those transmigration clichés and this novel is a gem!

This is a review after finishing the novel. The MC's goal is to create the most powerful sect ever. This is not his own goal at the start but something pushed on him by his own cheat. This cheat gives him "quests" related to this goal he has to complete with the threat of death.

Good points :

• Comedy at the start is great.
• Sect building is consistent from the beginning to the end, the sect building aspect is not pushed aside
• Big Side characters (his direct disciples) are very developed, some are rascals, some are strict or easy going, cruel and so on. They have their own self-created martial arts and personalities. They are very distinct and they are not "empty puppets".
• Even small side characters are great! They will have personalities, goals, enemies, friends. Eventually, the main disciples will have their own disciples and even those smaller side characters will have rivalries between each other, have their own mini-arcs, background. They'll fight for the sect and themselves.
• For once the girls gets a real chance. They get real "screen time", some are tough and fierce and stand on their own.
  
• The MC is very protecting of his disciple and very generous. It's a nice change.
• Seeing the sect develop from a couple of people to hundreds or thousands with their own sect martial arts is very satisfying
  There are others sects, some friends, neutral, enemies and we get to see their stances and viewpoints and their own machinations. This means that even if he is in good term with a sect it doesn't mean that they are not looking out for their own benefits.

Bad Points :

• There is not much tension. The MC will always win in an over the top fashion.
• The MC is very lucky. This is usual in those novels. But for example one of the MC's cheat is a roulette that will give him a random item, the item he will receive will always play a huge role in the near future. He gets exactly what he needs every time, even if he doesn't know it yet.
• While there is a lot of sect building stuff written, the focus is still heavily on the MC. We do get some quick peeks on Sect tournaments, sects fights, disciples recruitments and so on. But the author should have gone deeper into those aspects. I wanted to read more about how they were being taught, I wanted more POV chapters on the actual disciples. And so on.

This is a very good novel. I usually end up dropping CN novels after a few hundred chapters because it often gets too repetitive and boring. There is still repetitiveness here, particularly when it's about the MC cultivation and fights (which sadly is the biggest focus of the novel) but the other stuff makes up for it.

Amazing novel; in which the author subverts the general 'MC seen as weak, but really strong' commonly found in xianxia or wuxia novels, and focuses more on the psychology of acting strong and tricking people. I found this read far more entertaining than the majority of currently translated xianxia and wuxia, which just focus on power and generally have repeating elements. This is a very enjoyable novel which plays on tropes pretty well. Its written in the perspective of a person who finds himself tasked with many quests leading up to him creating the number 1 sect in history. It's comical and witty, you should read it. Unfortunately, the pace of translation is quite slow (just look at the dates). This does not complement the pacing of the novel. I'll recommend catching up with the current chapter and stockpiling.

"History number one troller" is a better title for this fanfic. Yes! This novel is categorized by me as fanfic. Because the author just using four different MC from other authors novels to make his story goes. Luckily those four MC are either from utter trash under average novel (*cough* btth), or lack readers unpopular novel (*cough* xian ni) otherwise all their fans will gonna go looking for this author and spit him to death... Summary: LF (the MC) is a scammer who robs other mc's op item and scam those foolish young naive little MC to become his slaves disciples (gonna pitied those four little MC whose gonna be drag down by their mediocre teacher's speed of cultivation just like four bunnies walk in line up behind a turtle) The gaming theme itself (mission, lottery, reward, etc) made this novel genre vague, neither xianxia or xuanhuan are fit to describe it. Overall, just view this as an average fanfic to waste some time. Action: mostly troll Storyline: absolutely fanfic, takes all kidnapped disciples background, mixed it a bit and goes from that. Romance: none so far Character growth: read the original novel for the four disciples, slow progress growth for LF (the mc). Future reading potential: a bit, not expecting much.

The MC is a bit annoying until you notice he's just a little chuunibyou. I mean, Absolute Choice is just like Noucome with all the humor and comedy, but also gore and 'kind-of' mature content. Yes, Shi Xiaobai may be a little smug and eccentric, but from the first chapter we read things like: "He was the strongest in his universe/He was a king above everyone else" etc, and yet he suddenly appears in the body of a 13yo kid who thinks he's overpowered?

As I said, if you get annoyed by the "This King"-sh*t, just treat it like you're reading a kid boasting, this novel is worth a read, try to read at least to chapter 5, chapters are short so don't worry.

Originally, I'd have given Absolute Choice a 4/5 rating, or even 5/5. The beginning was fairly weak, yes, more similar to a fanfiction or a parody than anything else. However, I believe the author, Pear Lands in the Autumn Spring, suddenly decided to take the story more seriously and spiced things up. We were introduced to some pretty interesting plots and characters, and the battle scenes weren't half bad. Of course, there were some parts where the quality dropped, but the story still managed to keep itself interesting.

Personally, my favorite parts were Shi Xiaobai getting hold of Kali's corruption (loved her character), and the scenes with Dawn Li (even though her appearance is pretty much Saber from the Nasuverse). However, the author... managed to majestically fail later on. Not only did he throw filler chapters at out way time after time again (at least a 100 of those), he clearly started to drag on the story, with all of that random filler paragraphs, and the characters reacting to the random filler chapter, saying how they were random filler paragraphs (in other words, the author is clearly aware that what he's doing is unprofessional, yet he persists on doing it. Go figure).

There are also various immersion-breaks and over-explanation. Like the author suddenly mentioning, in the middle of an important, deep scene, how 'the author is a really awesome guy, so, of course, Villain A won't touch MC's girlfriend B). That's the definition of an anti-climax. It COMPLETELY breaks the flow. It's silly, dumb and ridiculous. And it happened countless times over the past few chapters.

Anyhow, with all of that flaws summed up together, I've lowered my rating from a mighty 5/5 to 1/0. If I could, I'd give it a negative one. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it. It turns into a huge disappointment later on. Unless the author gets his game together, it's not worth reading.

The absolute choice system made this story into something more intriguing and refreshing to read. MC is somewhat naive, dense, and very arrogant, but somewhat amusing. Too bad there are some characters from another fiction pop up here and there, but not the characters themselves, rather they are. you can call them... fake or second-rate imposter which somewhat ruined the story.
If you're fine with that shortcoming, then this is a great story to enjoy.

As the author or translator says you need to bear with it in the beginning, it may seem stupid, lame, cliche, w/e but later it all makes sense. The story gets really good after ~50 chaps and it follows a chunnibyou MC (there is a reason why he is such, explained in a tragic flashback so don't think he's just an idiotic shallow character). The first few characters are plagiarized for parody, not really funny though and the author realized that perhaps so he switched to originals. There seems to be a developing harem but actually there won't be, just funny situations where the MC gets caught seemingly doing something with a girl, but he isn't ofc and he barely knows what s*x is (no he isn't a wimpy bloke of wood, he is a bloke who doesn't care for s*x), and he won't know for a long time and only then with 1 girl perhaps, so harem haters worry not. Yea I know my sentences are mish mash but as long as I say the important things and fast, I'm not writing an essay for a grade here. Anyway, it's about funny shonen adventures in a sort of a One Punch Man world where the MC gets ridiculous quests he must fulfill.

While reading "absolute choice" I enjoyed the humor and the writing style is good, good translation, good description of battle scenes and lots of tension from reasonable situations, even good character development and personality. The problem is the further the author progressed it's as if he didn't know how to end the arc, and when it finally ended the chapters of description explaining how everything came to a close should've been understood when the arc was finished. Frankly for me and my general opinion when an author takes multiple chapters to explain how an arc ended is a failure as the reader shouldn't have to be told through filler the author should be able to inform you throughout the arc not when it is finished and readers are still wondering what the purpose and point of the story is 500+ chapters into a book.

Furthermore, after chapter 100 the humor is good but it's too much to my liking it's like the author wanted to make a comedy. Humor is good but not when it's forced. Another problem I had is the MC is impossible to take serious at any moment throughout the story. Frankly, I feel the author should go to writing comedies but doubt as the jokes became increasingly dull and I felt I was reading what a high school kid would say as a naughty joke to his friend.

This has to be one of the worst novels I have ever read. In fact, this might be the first time I felt so negativity towards a novel and I have been reading for at least 5 years.

Stolen characters, arcs that are over 100 chapters, the whole plot needlessly dragged out, later chapters are 90% fillers which serve absolutely no purpose even if you skip 20 chapters you still wouldn't miss anything and so much freaking unnecessary details which repeated at least 3 times in the same chapter

It has become a real chore to read this garbage. The authors writing skills absolutely suck so many unnecessary dialogues so many fillers
The beginning of the story was ok I would have given it 4 stars but now it has become absolute garbage I would even give it 0 stars if I could I wholeheartedly regret reading this novel and wasting so much of my time on it.

If you are looking for something of a light reading material with humor included then you should give this a try. As of late, this is not a harem kind of novel although the plot twists with the female protagonists is a fun read. I think most readers who do not prefer childish protagonists should avoid this. Anyway, this would really depend on your own preference. Personally, I am enjoying this novel. Thumbs up to the translators too with its fast release and quality translation.

The thing about CSG is that initial is pathetic but everything improves later on story, romance, power. While the plot is indeed rinse and repeat kind. There are many good development over time. The mc also has his fare share of romance and girls and harem, even s.e.x, the start is definitely a bit boring but story definitely gets better later. If you can stick up to it that is.

Chaotic Sword God can be said as one of the most controversial Chinese novels in NU directory, for many reasons. There are shaky plots, cliche characters, plot armors, and so on. Read all the reviews here, and you'll get just how bad it is. I particularly dislike how the MC seemed to be easily diverted from his aim by anything that he meets on the way, how he seemed to be fishing troubles everywhere, also from the way the plot constructed in which he always gained something from his losses and use it to destroy his enemies. Once or twice is okay, but the repetitiveness of this story chafes reader’s enjoyment.

However, the world building and the author’s narrative was enthralling….probably. At least, those are the only things I can think of as the reasons why I’m hooked on it. It’s like drugs; you know it’s bad, but you want a dose of it anyway. I know some other (equally controversial) series that I’ve dropped and I’ll never pick again as their repetitiveness bored me. But CSG…well, my eyes are just always looking for the newest update…or if I managed to put it off for some time, then one day I’ll suddenly think, “What’s Jian Chen doing now?” and look at CSG again

Chaotic Sword God really shines, I think, in its secondary characters. Jian Chen is already a relatively fully developed person and you watch him make his way through life in a strange world where nothing revolves around him. Whenever someone with a horrid personality appears, so too does someone whom you have some level of respect for.

There are even more characters that've been shown that are just going about their lives as they normally would if Jian Chen did not exist. Jian Chen does stupid things sometimes, but we forget that even though he's really a full grown man inside, he's used to being a tyranical sword master who could kill anyone in the world. He's been brought to a strange world that he doesn't fully understand the culture of, and he's trying to make his way through it with his own attitude brought from his original life. These fleshed-out side characters give the story a transient appeal with you knowing that the places Jian Chen has been will continue to be and will, in time, barely be any different overall for his presence. In a way, it feels as though a ronin was reincarnated in medieval Europe and is going from kingdom to kingdom. I think that's why I like this story so much; the impermanence of the main character. It feels very realistic.

Amazing novel a slow one but amazing nonetheless Ruthless/Bad Ass MC who doesn’t give a shit who he pisses of / or kills as long as they don’t provoke him and a very well paced story considering this novel has 1,6k chapters and is ongoing so ye for some it will look slow and it is slow but better to be slow with a good story than some shit like MGA who repeats its entire story every 200-300 chapters all over again.

My personal rating will be a 5/5 but this novel is not perfect so around 3.5-4/5 will be very justified anything less is either not your type of novel or your just some idiot rating it low just coz you don’t want it to have more rating than the novel you like or some shit like that. Anyone with a brain can see that this novel dose not deserve to be rated lower than 3 trust me i have read novels that are lower than 3 and this is not it.

Standard xianxia, written with a bit more quality than other lesser-rated ones. Everything is standard, functional, gets the story moving. MC is cautious and ruthless, friendly to those who are frank and honest. The only thing that makes this story stand out from other titles is the combat. Instead of people floating around in the sky exchanging profound moves that split the heavens and cleave the mountains (though it might happen eventually), you have battles happening on a much smaller and faster scale. Imagine those kungfu films where you have people battling each other exchanging weapon strikes while running in the streets and jumping around rooftops, like watching the movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” but sped up.

The focal point of the story is the MC and only the MC. Side characters appear and disappear within an arc, time passes without any mention of what is happening beyond the MC. Power level rankings seem meaningless because the MC can defeat higher rankers (as in most stories), only to face the exact same scenario once he has broken through.

Like most similar titles, there are entire chapters (sometimes two in a row) with nothing but the MC’s powering up the process.

Dialogue is limited to the usual tropes, and many events are quite repetitive: there are multiple instances of the MC being interrupted while eating alone, for example. There isn’t a general plot except for the mystery of his maternal lineage, no idea as to the MC’s end goal except to get stronger, and no real antagonists have revealed themselves yet after 190 chapters. Many characters barely have a line or two of descriptions, letting the reader know “this character’s going to die soon”.

There is no hint of long-term relationships of worthwhile note, even his siblings merely exist as plot devices for the MC to showcase himself.

Other than the combat, there is nothing thus far that makes the story memorable if you read a lot of xianxia. But if you’re a newcomer looking to sink time into something, this is a decent pick. It’s a fully functional, decently written xianxia that focuses on the protagonist. And killing via slashing/piercing the throat. Always the throat.

The plot seems cliche, but the development so far is pretty solid. The characters are lively and relatable; they're not simply there to set MC stage. Disregarding the volatile quality of earlier translations, in my opinion Beseech The Devil is an above-par novel among xianxia/xuanhuan. Particularly if you are a fan of this genre, it is very suitable for your reading list.

Truthfully, the story is still laying its foundation now, so it might be too early to give it 5 stars. However, I've got really big expectation for its future chapters.

The mc is not one of the barbarian birth as he was adopted into the village clan by the villages grand elder and because he has a body of an immortal cultivator, walking on the path of barbarian cultivators is very difficult to almost impossible (think of barbarian cultivators like the western one from ISSTH) the cultivation realms are different compared to the other three popular novels from Ergen however there is one aspect that most people will link with ISSTH is that cultivators in BTD will condense an Totem Tattoo based on their dao or technique which is really cool

This novel is excellent. While not perfect, it is leagues ahead of other xianxia novel in terms of quality. I would highly recommend this novel to anyone.

Story (1 star/1 star): There's actually a story here and not just the typical "I need to get stronger" that most xianxia novel has. Cultivation is important but it takes a backseat to Su Ming's story. There are plenty ups and down in the story and tragedy galore. It keeps you guessing every step of the way as you question the reality of the world. Definitely not a feel good story but it doesn't need to be.

Character(1 star/1 star): A big step up from Renegade Immortal. I actually cared about the cast of side characters in this story. While not outstanding, the characters are not 1D like many xianxia character. The MC actually has character development throughout the story and it's a refreshing change from the other 1D MC out there who are just Mary Sues.

Writing(1 star/1 star): While there a parts that dragged on a bit longer than it should have, the overall writing of the story is excellent. Each arc played out meaningfully and you feel that they contribute as whole to the story. Er Gen is definitely not one of those author who writes filler to pad out the story. The world that is being built is mysterious and breathtaking to explore and read about. The MC faces sufficient challenge and while he is not too OP in most of these, he feels sufficiently powerful.

Enjoyment(2 star/2 star): I enjoyed this novel immensely but then again I have always enjoyed Er Gen's novel. The story kept me hooked all they way and the only time I stopped reading is to take in the awesomeness of this novel.

Overall, this novel is a must read especially if you have read RI or ISSTH. It's too bad that the translation as of time of this review has been stalled. However it's good enough that you should go buy some eyedrop and read the MTL (may God help you stave of blindness if you do). I do recommend reading RI before this though as there is a bit spoiler for RI at the end of this novel.

this is the kind of story you will expect from ER GEN. although the cultivation method is quite different in this story, the way they cultivate is a mix between Perfect World and WESTERN CULTIVATORS from ISSTH.

so far there is only hundreds of chapters translated, in these chapters you will get enough mystery to get your attentions.

i have a high hope for this story. i believe it is going to be as popular as ISSTH and Perfect World – if we get frequent updates-.

The story is well written. The first ten or so chapters are poorly translated, however PiggyBottle is a good translator and is able to convey the story very well.

While the translation is only up to c50 it is hard to make definite statements about the story, but the main character seems to be a intelligent mc similar to all other Er Gen protags, however he seems to be lacking other personality traits. The cultivation is slightly different from the usual wuxia fair, and I look forward to see future developments.

I’m Really A Superstar is a novel that starts with an amazing amount of promise. It’s take on common elements found in xianxia/xuanhuan novels spun in a different direction is refreshing and the reaction chapters are very entertaining. Zhang Ye borrows literature and other works from his 'old world' and imports them into his new world where they do not exist with the help of game elements. This, among other game elements such as skill books, helps him on his journey to becoming a superstar.

I would highly recommend that people read the first 100-150 chapters of IRAS. Initially, it is fantastic. The new spin on common ideas is refreshing and to see it used in a different manner is very nice. The initial reaction chapters are amazing and are very entertaining to read. After a while, the novel doesn’t just go downhill, it falls off a cliff. I could not recommend this novel in it's entirety to anybody. Even if the reaction chapters are very nice to read, they become further and further apart, and the content in the middle is not worth reading.

Instead of constantly leveling up or physically fighting off cliche enemies, this novel is without a doubt a comedy with a fantasy element (the special system that helps him become a superstar). I have to amend my previous score of 5 stars. While it is unfair to say that the protagonist is completely talentless, all the boons of his second-life are the results of plagiarism. In the early arcs, that alone is not at all something I would have damned the protagonist for. He is sharing legitimate works of literature and art, and reading those genuinely bolstered my appreciation for Chinese art. However, as time goes by, it becomes clear that the protagonist is not just a vector for sharing art. Zhang Ye is a hypocrite, a lecher, a glass-heart nationalist, and overall scumbag. If he were put into a position of power without the game system, he would most likely behave like the bosses he takes face away from.

As the story goes on, the stereotyping of Americans, Japanese, and Koreans is matched only by the way he stereotypes Chinese figures of authority (be it managers, monks, or educators). It simply isn't reasonable for everyone Zhang Ye meets to be as pig-headed and ultra-nationalistic as he is and reflects badly on us Chinese. You don't need to be Alexander Pope to see the author is projecting his own insecurities and worries onto both Zhang Ye and all the antagonists.

Worse of all his storytelling just becomes a redundant formula. I forget who said this about show business, but the adage goes, "You can be bad, but you can never be boring." All politics aside, "I'm Really a Superstar" gets boring.

Besides all the wuxia/xianxia/xuanhuan genres, there are plenty of other web novels on Qidian that are excellent. Currently one of the top on Qidian's monthly voted ranks is "I’m Really a Superstar" (我真是大明星).

The genre is "Workplace Novel > Entertainer". It is a great modern-day novel. I am caught up with the novel.

The general premise is that of a modern day human, Zhang Ye who ends up appearing in another modern day Earth, but now he has a game ring. It is powered by 'Reputation'. He gains Reputation if people approve of something he did. He can use the popularity points to have a chance at a jackpot which can grant him various benefits such as stat increases (strength, speed, stamina), one-time items (save points, lucky bread, unlucky charm against one person, AOE unlucky charm, invisibility, etc), special game abilities (such as unlocking a 'merchant shop' where he can buy a specific item with his popularity points), skill books (hacking skillbooks, Taiji fist skillbooks, acting skillbooks, directing skillbooks, video skillbooks, etc)

His goal is to become the number one celebrity in the world. Now, notice I mentioned that he came into another modern Earth, but this Earth has something different with its entertainment history or even history. It can be backwater in certain ways compared to his own Earth, so he can plagiarize...I mean share the knowledge from his own world to this world and become popular as a result.

Late in the story, his lists of accolades become ridiculous, he is a top host, top actor, top comedy skit actor, top stand-up comedian, top songwriter/composer, top singer, top hacker, Chinese professor, Math professor, top radio host, top poem writer, top novel writer and has even flown a plane after defeating hijackers.

If people like reaction chapters, this novel is chock full of them, and the language used is extremely 'flowery' (read swear words in a funny way).

This story also makes you more in tune to China, giving you a glimpse of their culture and problems they face. It can also give you some insight on why xianxia/xuanhua novels are written in such a way.

In fact, it feels like a modern day xianxia story. MCs use skills you don't really understand to beat their rivals? Zhang Ye uses his poetry and cursing to beat his rivals. Zhang Ye is a person who personifies the meaning the pen is mightier than the sword.

Oh btw, he uses a Brick in later chapters to fight against other martial artists...

IRAS, oh IRAS..

If we were simply talking about this novel's quality, then without a doubt I will say that it is definitely one of my personal Top 10, it's jokes, creativity, reactions and excitement is indeed one of the very best. But sadly, this novel has 2 major, big flaws, flaws that can actually be erased easily..

Just before you read, I love IRAS. I truly love it, but because I love it so much I became utterly disappointed at the direction the author is bringing IRAS in.

Really, I really2 loved this novel..sigh.

The genre is Comedy, almost a pure comedy. Within the first 250s or so chapters, the comedy it shows is indeed top level. But after that, it just seems to be getting bleaker and bleaker, the jokes are not as funny as before. It is not making me laugh almost every chapter again, it seems like the author had forgotten this novel's very core and instead went on to a scolding free of other nations.

Style : For 300 or so chapters, the style of the author itself, I must say is very good but the style of the novel itself? One could argue it's a bit repetitive, although I am not too bothered by it.

It has a kind of a rythm to the chapters for around 300 or so chapters.

Short arcs that goes by :
Zhang Ye started something new -> Zhang Ye is very good at it -> typical xianxia enemy starts to appear -> more hate and injustice -> Zhang Ye smacks them in the face -> Zhang Ye saves the day.

And in between every new arcs, there can be great relaxing chapters that can make us read at ease and laugh. Although the pattern may seem continuous, the author actually made it so that we are still hooked depsite the pattern, props to the author for this.

But..it all changed, I don't know when exactly but more and more annoying scenes of Zhang Ye taking advantages of the girls came out, which is absolutely and totally unnecessary at all. I usually skipped this kind of scenes 90% of the time, I don't know if this was meant to be a fan-service but this is horrible. This, is the 1st big flaw it has.

The 2nd big flaw, is something that most of us I believe do not appreciate this at all: Racism.

Racism, no matter what form it is, is absolutely disgusting. It brings a good novel a level down and causes readers to not enjoy it so much.

Actually the racism in it is not too evident, especially in the first 250 chps when there are almost no hint of racism. Only nationalism.

Warning, a bit of a rant and slightly spoilerish below.

One might argue with me, " but this is nationalism! "

Well, Nationalism and Nationalist are in no way BAD, some would probably even respect you for it. But nationalism and racism are two completely different things lying on a very distinct border.

The author might try to hide it by saying a few good words here and there but there is no way to completely hide it. It's there, and it's getting worse as more chapters get by.

Every koreans in the novel are branded " the bad guys ", so far I've seen there are no such things such as " good koreans. " ofc Zhang ye himself will mever say it but there are side characters who will further intensify this subject.

He even released an episode of him scolding the koreans in the whole episode just because a korean artist is being a b**h to him, come on, if you want to scold that artist, fine by me. But scold the entire koreans? Please.

Oh just a slight warning, I heard that other countries will not be safe from it too in the future, not just Korea.

Story : The story actually feels like a xianxia that is not a battle but instead a battle using words and literature, the typical xianxia antagonist is here with their unable to see Mount Tai character but is not much of an annoyance to me.

Until chapter 250s the joke is still very fresh but just like what I stated above, it goes downhill from around there.

The objective of the mc is very simple and oblivious from the title : to become a superstar. With the help of a ' system ' he had paved his own road to become one with ordinary looks and ordinary skills to achieve his goal.

While this might seem interesting, eventually as more chapters go by, I felt that the author is losing sight of this too.

Firstly, Zhang Ye's dream is to be the biggest star in the world, but..he is actually borderline-racist? Hell me, this would never be possible in the real world, especially when he scolded the koreans so much, he is still talking about being the No.1 artist? Please.

Secondly, the novel pretty much strayed a bit fron the original intent: to be a superstar, more like vs the koreans.

Characters : Some of the characters are well-fleshed out, some are even very interesting. Zhang Ye's character himself is already evident since the start, so there is no character developments at all, he will be Zhang Ye through and through.

But again? Why are you making every korean becoming the bad guys?..I'm really disappointed.

Tldr; IIRAS is an excellent, excellent read, all you need to do is just skip the lines everytime he talks about othe countries cuz you won't like it. There are very very awesome moments of the novel that is blood boiling and exciting but alas, those flaws I mentioned above have hampered it down a lot. 8.4 IRAS.

I don't want to disrespect anybody but i have to say it!

FORGET ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEW BELOW OR ABOVE ME because I as novel maniac who has finished almost every popular novel being translated now have also finished reading this novel by reading it nonstop for 7 days. Yes all 2500+ chapter, finished And i have only one thing to say, this novel is a fu*king Masterpiece.

It's got out of the world comedy, action, also fulfilling romance that you don't see in any other novel. Most of all not one character in this novel is a brain dead idiot or stupid. Every character is unique and their characteristics are very detailed. Moreover, the plot of this novel is awesome, almost has no plot holes at all, most of all despite having more than 2000+ chapters its not repetitive, yes... people it is not repetitive!

if there was rating more than 5, I would give it 55! The plot and the characters are well throughout and comes together perfectly. The power divisions are well thought out as well. The MC is open-minded and doesn't do mindless slaughter if there's no need for it. Moreover, the MC is cunning as a fox until the very end of the novel, he doesn't get stupid as his powers grow like we see in many other novel.

Yes, he's ruthless too, but he's not unreasonable. As a romance novel fan, i specially love this novel, as you all realized from the harem tag, the mc has several wifus. Each wifu has their own unique characteristics they don't mindlessly fall for the mc like we see in some trash (!) novel, their relationship slowly builds up and all of them are very dedicated and compassionate. It also shows the various troubles of harem and slowly solves these issues by facing many situations and slowly building up mutual trust and understanding between the various wifus. The villains are all have unique characteristics as well, they plot and they see reason, they know when to back down, which is pretty nonexistent in most novel.

Politics, plotting, action, romance, comedy, adventures this novel has all of em and more.

I read this novel nonstop for 7 days and I didn't feel bored at all, every chapter was interesting and was a fun read.

In the end if you still don't understand the awesomeness of this piece of gold then if yoh this CD, ATG, BTTH, ISSTH etc are awesome novel then this novel is legendary level novel

Another masterpiece from Fenglin Tianxia.Start with reset life plot like any other novels which makes me feel kinda dull. (seriously? like theres no other plot to begin a story?). But overall the story aint so bad. The main idea of the story goes around how mc try to change the future of him and his gf by changing the overall future of the present time. The story written epicly with the authors sense of humour that gonna make u laugh n shake ur head.Recommended for those who seek a smart n funny novel

been reading it since chapter 3...easily on my top 5 for novels. MC is smart and thinks out the consequences of his actions (as in, not just killing everything that offends him). The language is poetic and the story is quite well-written. The characters are well-developed. Usually, in Xianxia's it's good if I can even connect with the MC, but in this novel I can connect with the side characters too. TT^TT I got the feels, man...the feels...

Firstly, I want to commend Walk The Jiang Hu for his excellent work in translating this novel. He is clearly well versed in Chinese as well as the wuxia/xuanhuan genre, his TL notes are definitely worth reading - he explains the names, terminology used, common Chinese expressions, references to other wuxia works and he even drew diagrams to illustrate hard to visualise scenes. Truly I have not seen many translators as dedicated and passionate about their work as this guy. I would definitely recommend this translation to anyone without any reservations.

Now as for the novel itself, now that I have read 7 volumes of this (there are 8 volumes in total, the 8th volume alone having over 900 chapters in it) I think I'm ready to make a conclusive judgment.

It was okay up to the middle layer. The start was absolutely perfect, definitely 5 star material. It had one of the best starts of any reincarnation novel. At the bottom layer it was good, all the secret scheming and tactics used was fresh and exciting. Schemes were continually deployed against one another and he was constantly striving for his goals, which were foreshadowed nicely. He faced dangers which he had to resolve using cunning and intelligence, and it was very interesting to see these 2 factions go against each other. The harem was justified because the 2 girls fell in love with him after spending a long time and getting to know him, so it's not like they fell in love for no reason. The dialogue was never very good though, they barely ever said anything to each other that might realistically resemble what partners might say to each other. At the middle layer the MC and his friends made good use of the tensions between different clans to manipulate them to their advantage. This is where it started getting worse. For example the juvenile humor where they just started beating each other up over petty squabbles acting like teenage delinquents (actually worse than that). The tension started dissipating once Mo Qing Wu was safe and Mo Tian Ji was firmly on the MC's side. At that point the novel started clearly going downhill and became a chore to read.

Once they got to the top layer the brains appeared to fall out of all the characters and the battles became much less exciting for example in the lower level the armies used terrain and formation to their advantage and heavily employed deception, in the top layer it was just mindless throwing people at each other without any regard for tactics. I know the author explained this by saying that high level cultivators can just ignore terrain and in the top layer strength trumps intelligence, but this is clearly not true because the MC hides in the snow and digs through mountains which is clearly using terrain to his advantage. Also the challenges that the MC and his friends faced became a lot less exciting and the way they solved it also was less interesting. One time the MC's new harem member was about to get taken to the higher realm and the MC suddenly went crazy and attacked the hand that was taking her and cut off one of the fingers, even though that could have killed him and he did it for no reason since the woman wasn't under any threat either. He just acted rashly for no reason.

The biggest problem was that once the MC found his parents the motivation for the story was basically lost. Literally the only reason for the MC to go up to the higher realm now was 1). To revive Wu Qing Qing and 2). To find his other harem member who went up. It's pretty easy to predict what would happen so there's basically no suspense from then on. Kind of like the case with RITF now actually. Once the MC got to the higher realm there's no real reason to keep reading anymore since pretty much all the mysteries have been solved and everything he wanted to achieve had been achieved. He was supposed to go fight the demons because that was his "fate", even though he could actually just choose not to. In the end he only went up to revive Wu Qing Qing and find the other girl and there was just no tension at that point so I stopped reading.

I was disappointed once they revealed the purpose of the 9-tribulations-sword. It is one of the blandest you can possibly imagine. It was created to select someone with the potential to fight the demon tribe on another plane. Feng Ling Tian Xia seems to love the idea of the human-eating demon tribe a lot, he uses the same idea in RITF as well. This godlike item was actually just a piece of trash thrown away by an even more godlike cultivator. Actually this is typical of the novel in that a lot of the things like the sword arts that came with the 9 tribulations sword are not really described in detail, like I don't even know if it's a stab or a slash or if it's AOE or single target or what. The novel kind of just glosses it over. A lot of the major details are glossed over like this, as if the novel doesn't want you to really think about it, and that's fine, but since the details are lacking, we don't really know what to do think about the MC's decisions since we don't know the context fully. For example the MC decided not to put the phoenix's soul into the sword. How much more powerful would that have made the sword? How long would it take to get the same level of power otherwise? A lot of these details are omitted so we don't really know what the MC sacrificed to save the phoenix and so the emotional impact is not really there.

The setting in this novel isn't very imaginative, it's pretty much just normal swordfighting or palm strikes. There aren't any interesting treasures or abilities like you can find in Reincarnator or LSG for example (and I don't even think LSG is that imaginative). This would be okay if the writing was really good, and it was really good to begin with, but it got dull later on and the lack of imagination made it stand out all the more.

Cultivation increasing with fighting, that is something that is definitely not "standard" for a cultivation novel. Normally people increased cultivation by shutting themselves alone in a room and meditating, whereas here it is by fighting to the death. You'd have thought that other people would have realized this? It is kind of obvious. In LSG this type of cultivation is also included as the main cultivation method in one of the many realms in LSG (there are probably countless realms in LSG). Definitely the world in LSG is far more imaginative and expansive than the one in TTNH.

Additionally, the number 9 is used a lot in this novel. I don't know what is the obsession with the number 9. The sword is made of 9 parts, the MC has 9 friends (actually more than that, but the rewards will only go to 9 people) there are 9 realms etc. It feels forced and not a natural consequence of anything in the story. There's a lot about talk of fate and destiny of the nine-tribulations-sword-master. Intrinsically the kind of novel that talks about the fate of the protagonist is limited because either the MC succumbs to his fate or he doesn't, but either way he's still driven by his desire to go against his preordained destiny and not striving for something real and tangible. This makes the novel feel restricted in a way and not as expansive as one which is not restricted by such notions of fate and destiny.

The plot of this story is very similar to RITF. MC gets reincarnated to repent to his former love interest, along the way he picks up a harem and some friends, they fight against demons from another realm, etc. After a while you just think: "did the author run out of ideas already?".

The characters are not bad, but most of them are pretty dumb. The're lucky that they weren't exposed to situations where intelligence is required or they would have died a billion times already. A lot of the time they just say or do something that's courageous but obvious and that's the end. It's not psychological like Reincarnator. Actually now that I have read Reincarnator the psychology in this novel feels really amateur in comparison. In Reincarnator the characters are constantly exposed to situations where acting in accordance with common sense would get them killed, so only the smart characters survived. In this novel, basically the only smart characters are the MC, Mo Tian Ji and Di Wu Qing Rou, and maybe the forest spirit guy forgot his name. Most of the MC's friends are actually dumb as a brick, like literally dumber than your typical 16 year old. The "brotherly love" in this actually feels disgusting. They say things to each other that actually made me feel a bit sick like they were homosexuals or something. The love between the MC and his harem members also made me feel a bit sick like I was watching some 3rd-rate romance drama.

Although the plot may sound cliche and boring, it's worth a read. It's really a great novel. The reason I translated this was because the plot gets INSANELY good later on and you'll miss out on it all. It has intense Plot twists and things you wouldn't even IMAGINE in a cultivation light novel.

If you don't want to read it, that's fine. But once I reach a certain point in which I think the plot starts to get EXTREMELY GOOD, I'll make a summary of what happened, including the main characters and cultivation ranks. So WATCH out for that, although it won't be anytime soon.

Also, it starts to get good at 200ish chapters but it's a good read after chapter 50.

It was very interesting at the start and I had a lot of expectations for this and was looking forward to it. Maybe because I put too much faith in it that it let me down more. Anyways the mc is strong and intelligent which makes me doubt things because he didn't transmigrated and somehow he gets a power and gets really arrogant and how is he intelligent compared to elders and other people who have more experience than him... could of explained that better. Anyways story was good and I'm still interested 4 stars

I picked this novel up thinking it might be alright considering the story line didn't sound too bad and the ratings were good. I am dropping this novel because it is a horrendous piece of trash. I had no idea how people even gave this good ratings. I was going to do a pros/cons list but I can't think of a single pro, so I'm just gonna do the cons.

1. This thing reads like a diary, not a novel. The first 44 chapters in a nutshell: "I decided to cultivate this skill now. After 2 days, I finally understood something about the skill and it became stronger. Then, I cultivated this other skill for 2 days and it reached the peak of the high rank!" etc. It's more than likely going to be over 1500 chapters of this. Also, what is "something"? I'll tell you what it is, it's the result of a lazy author that doesn't want to put any effort in his novel so he doesn't even try to explain anything.
2. Super redundant. I'm not even talking about what I mentioned above about how the story is repetitive, even the sentences are repetitive. It keeps repeating the same descriptions of everything. You'd think maybe they're just reminding you after a few chapters, but no. The novel is riddled with almost identical descriptive sentences just a few sentences apart, and it's not just a few cases, it's been like this constantly. You could easily cut out 30% of the novel so far if you removed the redundancies.
3. Story? What story? The point of the story is just the MC wants to get strong, but he doesn't have any reason to do so. There isn't even a cheesy reason like protecting his friends. Considering the MC is as dull as dishwater, there is no way any sort of story line or motives are going to develop later on, just retarded antagonists appearing that happen to be around the same level as the MC and get pummelled.
4. No insight whatsoever about any of the skills. All you know about them is they are either a movement skill, an attack skill or a body strengthening skill. That's it. Nothing else. Author doesn't even try to explain what they do.
5. Fights are terrible. It's just people spouting random skill names, and you don't even know what those skills do. Interactions between the skills are retarded. Whichever skill has the higher rank always wins, no exceptions. It is completely unrelated to how it is used. On that matter, I don't think anyone has even tried to use a skill creatively yet, and I don't think this is going to change. I can't believe the authors actually have the nerve to pull the Martial Arts tag on this. Also, not once has anyone with a lower "power level" actually won the fight, other than the MC once or twice near the start because his eye gives him insane reflexes because it's convenient to the story.
6. Characters suck. Let alone a personality, the MC doesn't even have a single character trait. He doesn't even have any emotions, and his speech jumps around from respectful, arrogant, humble or whatever else the author's mood was at the time, for no apparent reason. Let's not even get started about the side characters.

I'm not even going to get started on the plot holes or the ridiculous luck the MC has.

Example:

Oh, there's a tournament in a few days and you have no chance of making it in the top 3? Don't worry guys, he randomly stumbles on a cave with easily millions of silver worth of materials that help him get stronger at a ridiculous rate.

I heard that the translator says that this gets really interesting at around chapter 200, but even if the arcs get more interesting, it won't change all the underlying problems with the novel that I mentioned above. Save yourself some time and go read something else.

Well this novel actually not too bad at early chapters even i feel this is quite interesting. But sadly, the more stronger the MC the more stupid MC would be. What annoying is author describing how smart and high intelectual this MC while actually he can solve so many problems with simpler move.

The wise level of this MC too low, he let off the enemies that he should kill and killed the unimportant person with high priority.
The MC is too passive, i can accept one or two but while the retard enemies trying to kill MC all the time it just too annoying. Tbh i think with his "smartness" like author telling all the time and all the OP and unique skills he has it should be able to make the first move. Author seems like obsessived to absolute power while actually in the some situations the MC can use some tricks to defeat enemies

So many retard and unreasonable enemies, it just like the author trying to make enemies to provoke MC with retard reasons.

And the description of each characters and skills are too bad.

The MC Zhao Feng gets an OP eye ability (like most xianxia, they get something op, like a super strong teacher). What's interesting is how the well made plot goes on and how the MC responds to situations.

Pros:
- Superb quality translations
- Not an excessive amount of plot armor (a bit more than I'd like but that's xianxia usually..).
- Barely any of filler repeat descriptions some Chinese authors do to meet the character quota for a chapter.
- MC is likeable
- Interesting world/universe and abilities. Logical, with skills that have consequence (not just a spam of convenient for the scenario skills to solve one problem after another).
- Translator talks about how insane the plot gets in the future, that there will be twists that are not expected. ..Hype!!

Cons:
- If you don't like xianxia novels that have a sizeable amount of plot armor, this novel is not for you.
- Enemies are on the stupid side so far.
- Not close to being as comedic as I would like it to be comparatively to other xianxia novels.
- Female interests' character are usually not very developed.

Although this novel so far isn't as good as Er Gen's A Thought Through Eternity, Transcending the Nine Heavens, Realm in the Firmament, I Shall Seal the Heavens, Otherworldly Monarch, and some others on my 10/10 must-read xianxia novel recommendation list (well thought out character/world/interactions), I still think this novel deserves a 7 to 8 out of 10 on if I would recommend this to others.

It's decent novel that you can pass the time. Nothing special, but entertaining and fast paced. There are some bits where he has too much luck, and it felt kind of forced. I don't mind lucky MC's, but they have to sell it really well. The eye power and the cultivations dosn't seem tohave any drawbacks, which is kinda lame. It makes everything sound to easy, which I don't like. However, I still enjoyed this and it's fast paced, and dosn't have alot of fillers like some other novels.

MC is very likeable, characters seem quite well written, eye of god seems like a interesting OP artifact, which is quite mysterious still (Although Ive heard that later it will become more of focus of the story). For me it seemed that the start was little slow but more I've read this, better it has become.

While the cultivation rank, martial art skills seem quite straight forward in this novel, but during the last 20 chapters there have been some hints to more interesting aspects to these as well.

Translations are done really well and translation speed is quite nice.
